Hydro generated 4,422 TWh worldwide in 2025, 14.0% of all electricity. The largest producers are China, Brazil and Canada. Figures are Ember annual statistics. Hydro is conventional hydroelectric generation; Ember excludes pumped storage, which moves electricity rather than making it.
